Distribution | Symphyotrichum kentuckiense is a replacement name for S. priceae. Older literature treated it as Aster pilosus var. priceae. There is a single specimen (2 sheets) from NC: Gaston County, E-facing slope along Crawford Road, SR 1108, ca. 2000 feet from junction with US 321. 18 Oct 1996, J.T. Soule et al s.n. (UNCC). Specimen annotated by Jim Matthews in 2012.
"C. KY south through c. TN to nw. GA and n. AL." (Weakley 2024a). The NC collection is thus an eastward disjunction, east of the Appalachians. | |

Habitat | Slope of roadside in NC. Typical habitat is limestone glades. | |
