DistributionScattered locations across the whole state, from Haywood County to the Outer Banks. First collected in NC in 1955 in Durham County.

Native of Eurasia; in N.A. southern Canada south to NC, OK, and CA.

HabitatEdges of parking lots, roadsides, railroad yard, baseball outfield, cultivated field.
PhenologyFlowering and fruiting April-June.
IdentificationThis is our shortest forget-me-not and it has the smallest flowers. It is most similar to M. discolor, but the flowers grow essentially throughout the length of the stem (vs. just in the upper half). The petals are light blue to sky blue.
