Habitats and Life History
Habitats: This species is associated with dry oak woodlands and barrens over most of its range (Wagner et al., 2011). In North Carolina, records come from sandhills habitats in the Coastal Plain and mostly from dry ridges in the Mountains.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on oaks, including black and red oaks (Wagner et al., 2011). In North Carolina, J.B. Sullivan reared larvae from Bluejack Oak (Quercus incana) and Turkey Oak (Q. laevis). - View
