Comments: One of 126 species in this genus that occur in North America (Lafontaine and Schmidt, 2010, 2011), the majority of which occur in the West; 25 have been recorded in North Carolina.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats:
Larval Host Plants: Wagner et al. (2011) list Tall Jointweed (Polygonella gracilis) as a host plant. This plant is extremely rare in North Carolina, and has only been found at a single site in Hoke County. It does not seem to be present on the coast where we have found Schinia scissoides, so other host plants must be used in North Carolina. - View
