Adult Markings: Specimens of the genus Besciva occur throughout Florida westward along the Gulf coast to south-central Texas, and northward to the southern Coastal Plain of North Carolina. Populations in the southeast fall into three BINS based on DNA sequencing, but the taxonomic status of these is poorly resolved and all are currently treated as undescribed species.

Distribution: As of 2025, we have records from Carolina Beach State Park, along with several from the Sandhills and vicinity.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Almost all of our records come from the Sandhills, including Coastal Fringe Sandhills and inland ridges in the Fall-line Sandhills.
