Habitats and Life History
Habitats:
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on oaks, with reported hosts including Blackjack Oak (Quercus marilandica) and Water Oak (Q. nigra) (Forbes, 1923; Robinson et al., 2010). In North Carolina, Jim Petranka has reared a larva from White Oak (Q. alba) and also recorded a larva on Northern Red Oak (Q. rubra). Charley Eiseman also has a rearing record (BugGuide, 2017) in North Carolina from Swamp Chestnut Oak (Q. michauxii). - View
