Species Status: Aroga trialbamaculella, A. argutiella, and A. epigaeella show so much overlap in external appearance that they are indistinguishable based on photographs. In addition, A. trialbamaculella as currently recognized may contain two cryptic species based on BOLD data. This page was established for photographic records of specimens that conform to these three species. We currently do not have any North Carolina records of A. epigaeella based on dissections, but it could occur in the state.
