Habitats and Life History
Habitats:
Larval Host Plants: According to Royals et al. (2019), P. rhoifructana is the most polyphagous recorded species in the genus, feeding on plants in several families. Reported hosts include sumac (Rhus), Rattlesnake-master (Eryngium yuccifolium), Sweet Joe-pye-weed (Eutrochium purpureum), Common Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis), dogwood (Cornus), Sheep Laurel (Kalmia angustifolia), and Pink Azalea (Rhododendron periclymenoides). We do not have any feeding records in North Carolina.
