Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Found in rich alluvial forests and bluffs along the Roanoke and Cape Fear Rivers; also in non-riverine swamp forest in the Outer Coastal Plain.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on pawpaws (Asimina spp.) (Robinson et al., 2010). In North Carolina, larvae have been recorded feeding on both Common Pawpaw (A. triloba) and Dwarf Pawpaw (A. parviflora). - View
Observation Methods: Although we have captured up to six in a single trap, the lack of records for this species may indicated that it comes poorly to blacklights.
