Habitats: Our records come from stands of upland hardwoods. Based on the host plants recorded for this species, dry oak-hickory forests, basic-mesic forests, and rich bottomland forests may all be used.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on Hickories, including Mockernut Hickory (Carya tomentosa), Pignut Hickory (C. glabra), Shagbark Hickory (C. ovata), and Bitternut Hickory (C. cordiformis) (Neunzig, 1972). We do not have any feeding records in North Carolina. - View
