State Protection: Has no legal protection, although permits are required to collect it on state parks and other public lands.
Comments: This appears to be primarily a Caribbean species but with records along the Gulf Coast, Florida, and the Southeastern Atlantic Coastal Plain. Most of our records come from late in the season, a time of year when it may have been previously overlooked.
