Field Guide Descriptions: Covell (1984); Beadle and Leckie (2012)Online Resources: MPG, BugGuide, iNaturalist, Google, BAMONA, GBIF, BOLD
Adult Markings: Similar in pattern and color to kentaria but the medial line on the hindwing below is located closer to the base, running from nearly the middle of the costa rather than from two-thirds of the way from the base (Forbes, 1948). The postmedian is located further out, with the two lines trisecting the wing. In alciphearia, a pinkish shade runs before the postmedian rather than after it. The median and outer part of the wing are heavily striated.
Adult ID Requirements: Identifiable from good quality photos of unworn specimens.
