Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Forests and woodlands (Wagner et al., 2001). Our records come from riparian and cove forests, bogs, and high elevation forests.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae are generalist feeders. Recorded hosts include maple (Acer), alder (Alnus), birch (Betula), New Jersey Tea (Ceanothus americanus), ash (Fraxinus), poplar (Populus), cinquefoil (Potentilla), currant (Ribes), willow (Salix), meadowsweet (Spiraea), and blueberry (Vaccinium); reports from conifers need confirmation (Wagner et al., 2001). - View
