Comments: One of 29 species in this genus that occur in North America north of Mexico (Lafontaine and Schmidt, 2010). Fifteen species have been recorded in North Carolina.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats:
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on maples, including Red Maple (Acer rubrum) and Silver Maple (A. saccharinum) (Wagner et al., 2011). Our only feeding record in North Carolina is for Florida Maple (A. floridanum), but other maples are likely also used throughout the state. - View
