Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Many of our records come from residential neighborhoods. Records from natural areas commonly come from wet or mesic hardwoods, but with some from xeric habitats.
Larval Host Plants: Larval hosts reportedly include hardwood trees, including Pecan (Carya illinoinensis), apple (Malus domestica), and oak (Quercus) (Heinrich, 1956). Neunzig (1990) noted that these records were based on specimen labels, with no information provided for the basis for the record. We do not have any feeding records in North Carolina. - View
