Field Guide Descriptions: Online Photographs: BugGuide, Google Images,  iNaturalist, GBIFSINA 006a.htm
Comments: Green but with the carina of the pronotum often marked with a dark line edged with yellow medially.
Structural Features: Members of the Oblongifolia Species Group are characterized by a shallow humeral sinus of the pronotum and by each metasternal lobe wider than long. This species is very similar to oblongifolia but males have a stridulatory field that is about the same in area as the pronotum; in oblongifolia, the stridulatory field is much greater (Rehn and Hebard, 1914). In carinata, the lateral carina of pronotum are distinct along its entire length, whereas they are more rounded in oblongifolia and often obsolete on the basal fourth or more (Blatchley, 1920). The ovipositor in carinata is more finely serrate than in oblongifolia.
