Description: A short-nosed species that is dull brown to black overall, sometimes with a reddish tinge. The dorsal yellowish median stripe extends only on the head and thorax. The face is flat and oval-shaped; the 'nose' or head projection is small and does not extend out far from the body, being fairly restricted in size. The underside of the body is a shining dark brown to black. The legs are yellow with the coxae and bases of other segments darker; sometimes the legs are all fuscous except at the apices of segments. Adults are 2.2-2.6 mm long. (Doering, 1939)
