Description: Similar to A. latidens in markings and appearance, but has a more produced head. The vertex is bluntly angularly produced, a little wider between the eyes than the median length. Overall, this species is brown tinged with orange. The vertex margin is yellow, bordered above and below with a waved black line; often the above line is broken into elongate dashes. The female pregenital sternite has the posterior margin concavely excavated with a short, broad tooth in the middle (the roundness of the excavation is interrupted with this tooth). The male genital plates are long and slender, diverging slightly from one another. (DeLong 1941)

Habitats: Moist areas where the host plant grows.
Plant Associates: Cane/native bamboo (Arundinaria)
Behavior: Can be attracted at night with a light.
