description |
A dark to dull green species with the claval vein on each wing bluish. The apical fourth of the wings are smoky, particularly the apical cells, contrasting with the green venation, and there is a prominent black spot near the apex of the inner basal cells. The vertex has pale mottling, and the anterior half of the pronotum and scutellum are yellowish-brown. The female pregenital sternite is angularly produced to the center of the posterior margin, where a broad tooth is sometimes notched in the middle and formed by an oblique notch on either side; the posterior margin ends in a sharp point on either side of this notch. The male subgenital plates are long and narrow, about six times as long as the width at the base. Adults are 3.5 mm long. (DeLong, 1931)
