| comments |
Most Eratoneura species have very similar colorations, consisting of orange to red wing and body markings that contrasts with a yellowish-white base color. Patterns can vary within species, and therefore assigning an ID based off of visual characteristics alone for many species is essentially a guessing game. Dissection of specimens, with examination of male genitalia, is the only way to identify a majority of Eratoneura species. |
