Habitats and Life History
Habitats:
Larval Host Plants: Charley Eiseman reared this species from a larva on Spanish-needles (Bidens bipinnata) in North Carolina (BugGuide record). He also listed Wild Sarsaparilla (Aralia nudicaulis), Devil's-walkingstick (A. spinosa), strawberry (Fragaria), Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), and goldenrod (Solidago) as reported hosts (Eiseman, 2024). Another BugGuide record from Texas has a larva being reared from Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia). More research is needed to determine the hosts that are used in North Carolina. - View
