Adult Markings: A grayish Olethreutine with a series of tufts on the forewing that give it a bumpy appearance. The ground color is grayish, variably shaded with brown and darker gray. Two dark, oblique lines are located in the antemedian and median position bordered by a gray patch located in the outer part of the wing. Two contrasting patches of black are located along the outer portion of the wing, the posterior-most strongly pointed towards the apex that Forbes (1924) likened to a bird's beak. A dark diagonal streak runs from the point of this beak to the apex.
