Species Status: Aethes sexdentata appears to represent a complex of several species based on genitalic differences (J.B. Sullivan, pers. obs.). It is unclear whether these taxa differ in their distribution, larval host plants, or habitat associations. Examples of variation in genitalia are shown under the structural features, and likely reflect one or more undescribed species with similar external morphology.
