Species Status: "All Acrobasis with a 3 are very tricky for ID. In some cases it requires close look at male antennae, in others a look at the underside of the wings in males. In some cases females cannot be distinguished (e.g. A. angusella and A. latifasciella)" (Scholtens, 2017).

Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Records from North Carolina come mainly from sites in the Coastal Plain studied by Neunzig (1972), all of which have cultivated populations of Pecan. Our one record from natural habitats is from a cove forest in the Mountains. At that site, Pecan is highly unlikely to occur -- it is not recorded from Swain County (Vascular Plants of North Carolina, accessed 2020-11-01). Bitternut Hickory might be present but has not been documented as a host plant for this species.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae appear to be monophagous on Pecan (Carya illinoinensis) (Neunzig, 1972). - View
