Habitats and Life History
Habitats: In the Mountains of North Carolina, we have a record from near the top of one of the peaks in the Amphibolite region, where rich soils are likely to be present. The site in the Piedmont is located adjacent to a bottomland forest with rich alluvial soils.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae have been recorded on American Hop-hornbeam (Ostrya virginiana) and American Hornbeam (Carpinus caroliniana) (Robinson et al., 2010). In North Carolina, a larva has been reared from American Hop-hornbeam. - View
