Identification
Field Guide Descriptions: Covell (1984); Beadle and Leckie (2012)Online Resources: MPG, BugGuide, iNaturalist, Google, BAMONA, GBIF, BOLD
Adult Markings: The ground color ranges from pale gray to reddish brown to dark grayish brown (Rupert, 1943). The shading is uniform over the entire wing, without a paler median area or dark shading preceding the postemedian (Rupert, 1943). The antemedian and postmedian are both grayish-brown. The antemedian is smoothly curved although sometimes broken at the veins or obsolete. The postmedian is outwardly curved from the costa to below the cell and somewhat incurved to the inner margin. It is also typically toothed or broken at the veins and broader towards the inner margin. The discal spot is dark and there is often one or two blurred spots in the subterminal area. The apex of the forewing is pointed and somewhat falcate and marked with a dark dash.
Adult ID Requirements: Identifiable from good quality photos of unworn specimens.

A long list of woody species are mentioned on BugGuide (accessed 2010-01-02) for this species but without any information on whether they were observed in the wild or reared (only one larval photo is shown, representing a captive rearing) - View
