Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Associated with bogs, barrens, and other heathy habitats (Wagner et al., 2001). Most of our records come from the Coastal Plain, including from barrier islands, savannas, flatwoods, sand ridges, and peatlands. Dry, rocky sites are used in the Piedmont; habitats used in the Mountains are unclear.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on heaths, including blueberry (Vaccinium); other hosts are accepted in captivity (Wagner et al., 2001). We do not have any feeding records in North Carolina. - View
