Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Fields and coastal strand communities (Wagner, 2005). Our records come from both open habitats, including Longleaf Pine communities and old fields, but also from a wide range of forested habitats, from Coastal Plain swamps to Northern Hardwoods at high elevations.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on a number of composites, including asters, dandelion (Taraxacum), and goldenrod (Solidago); also reported on clover (Trifolium) (Wagner, 2005). We do not have any feeding records in North Carolina. - View
