Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records come from both lake and river shorelines.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on willows and poplars (Wagner, 2005). In the Southeast, willows are the primary hosts, particularly Black Willow (Salix nigra) and Coastal Plain Willow (Salix carolininana) (Miller et al., 2018). We have records of larvae feeding on both of these willow species in North Carolina. - View
