Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Woodlands and forests (Wagner, 2005). Our records come predominantly from bottomland and mesic hardwood forests, and from areas with both rich, circumneutral soils and acidic blackwater alluvial forests.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae are polyphagous, feeding on a range of hardwood trees but with an apparent preference for elm and basswood (Wagner, 2005). In North Carolina, larvae have been recorded on American Elm (Ulmus americana) and Winged Elm (U. alata). - View
