Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Barrens, woodlands, and forests (Wagner, 2005). Our records span the range of hardwood forests in North Carolina, from maritime forests to northern hardwoods.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on members of the Fagaceae, including beech, chestnut, and oaks, but also reported on birch (Wagner 2005). In North Carolina, larvae have been recorded on White Oak (Quercus alba) and Cherrybark Oak (Q. pagoda). - View
