Comments: One of 29 species in this genus that occur in North America north of Mexico (Lafontaine and Schmidt, 2010). Fifteen species have been recorded in North Carolina.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records come primarily from rich, wet-mesic stands of hardwoods.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on American Hornbeam (Carpinus caroliniana), American Hop-hornbeam (Ostrya virginiana), and hazels (Corylus) (Wagner et al., 2011). - View
