Habitats and Life History
Habitats: This species uses a variety of different habitats across the state. In the Coastal Plain, we have records from dry-xeric dune grasslands on barrier islands. In the Piedmont, we have records from wet-to-mesic hardwood forests. In the Mountains, records come from Mountain Bogs, wet meadows, cove forests, and high elevation semi-natural grasslands.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on grasses but have been reared on dead oak leaves in captivity (Mikkola et al., 2009). We do not have any feeding records in North Carolina. - View
