Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Habitats include fields and other open habitats (Wagner et al., 2011). Our records include a number of open, natural habitats, including maritime dunes, coastal savannas, marshes, sandhill seeps, sand ridges, and lakeshores. We also have a large number of records from forests, woodlands, and residential areas.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae are polyphagous, feeding on both herbaceous and woody plants, including many crop species (Wagner et al., 2011). In North Carolina, larvae have been recorded feeding on thistle (Cirsium) and garden tomato. - View
