Comments: One of 29 species in this genus that occur in North America north of Mexico (Lafontaine and Schmidt, 2010). Fifteen species have been recorded in North Carolina.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records come from brownwater river floodplains, cove forests, and other stand of rich, wet-mesic hardwood forests
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on elms, particularly American Elm (Ulmus americana) and Slippery Elm (U. rubra) (Wagner et al., 2011). In North Carolina, our only feeding record is for American Elm. - View
