Comments: Males and females are similarly dark brown in coloration, although there is also an uncommon lighter olive form (Fox, 1912). The face is dark brown except on the genae, which are green with a brown suffusion. The dorsal median stripe on the pronotum is blackish, bordered along the lateral carinae by a grayish streak; the lower lateral lobes of the pronotum are deep, rich brown. The tegmina are a pale chestnut or orange in the apical two thirds, followed by a pale, translucent blue-green apical area. The abdomen has a brown median dorsal stripe but the posterior two thirds are a bright orange-yellow, especially in the males; in females, the orange color is more restricted and darker. The sides of the abdomen are light brown above a contrasting, blackish spiracular stripe. The male cerci are a bright green. The hind femur is blue-green suffused with brownish orange at the base and thickly covered with dark reddish or blackish spots (not like the larger red spots of stictomerus). The tibiae are blue-green.
