Comments: Frontinella pyramitela was transferred from the genus Linyphia and synonomized with F. communis by Chamberlin and Ivie, 1944.

Habitats: old field, bog, forest edge, low branches of trees, bushes, and tall grass

Silk / Web: F. pyramitela's common name, "bowl and doily weaver" derives from the two main parts of its web, comprising a "finger-bowl-like cup beneath which is stretched a nearly horizontal sheet (quote attributed to Comstock by B.J. Kaston, 1948), above the "bowl" is an irregular labyrinth which can be sizable. Prey that falls onto the bowl is pulled through by the spider hanging beneath.
Behavior: The males and females often peacefully cohabit in the same web.
