Comments: Now regarded as the basalmost sister group of the dysderoid spiders.

Comments: 6-eyed, resembles Dysdera. Legs pairs I, II, and III directed forward at rest, with only legs IV directed rearward.
Total Length: Females 6.1-15mm, males 5.4-7.2mm

Comments: Maine to California, south to Florida and Mexico; few records from Great Plains.
