Comments:
ID the family by each leg with six segments, dentate inner margin on moveable finger of chelicera, and pleural membranes granular. ID the genus by spinneret on moveable finger of chelicera is a rounded knob, four eyes, palpal chela with 3 trichobothria on moveable finger and 7 on fixed finger (Novobisium has 4 and 8, respectively). M. parvulum is smaller than M. brunneum, with differences in spacing of trichobothria.

Habitats:
Leaf litter, very diverse habitats, from dry open fields to swamps and floodplains.
Observation Methods:
Abundance/Frequency:
A study in upstate New York found Microbisium parvulum in the leaf litter year round, even under snow, at densities ranging from 25 to more than 300 individuals per square meter.
