Identification

Description: A very dark and bold species. The wings are mostly black and there is a bold, unicolorous white or cream stripe that extends across the head and thorax and down the inner margin of the wings, contrasting with the black wing color. This bold contrast between the pale stripe and black wings and sides of the thorax helps distinguish this species from P. vibex. Adult males are 5.2-6.6 mm long while females are 5.5-7.0 mm (BG).
