Habitats and Life History
Habitats:
Larval Host Plants: Larvae are highly polyphagous, with reported hosts including alder (Alnus), milkweed (Asclepias), horsebalm (Collinsonia), honeysuckle (Lonicera), Alfalfa (Medicago sativa), Garden Parsley (Petroselinum crispum), plantain (Plantago), buttercup (Ranunculus), currant (Ribes), willow (Salix), elderberry (Sambucus), Starry Campion (Silene stellata), Fringed Loosestrife (Steironema ciliatum), Common Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), clover (Trifolium), elm (Ulmus), and Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica). In North Carolina, we have feeding records for a wood-aster (Eurybia sp.) and Culver's-root (Veronicastrum virginicum). - View
