Taxonomy
Superfamily:
Noctuoidea
Family:
Noctuidae
Subfamily:
Noctuinae
Tribe:
Eriopygini
P3 Number:
933065
MONA Number:
10411.00
Species Status: The ground color is a very pale green (Forbes, 1954). The median is suffused with dark brown, usually most contrasting with the green ground color above the fold. In males, the median area at the inner margin is about 1/5 the length of that margin; in females it is less narrowed. The hindwing in both sexes is dirty white. Lacinipolia laudabilis is superficially indistinguishable from a cryptic sibling and currently can only be identified by dissection (JBS). Records from the Outer Coastal Plain appear to represent true laudabilis but those from further inland require dissection in order to identify.
