Adult Markings: The dorsum of the labial palps are dark in both sexes and the forewings lack a semicircular pale patch at the base of the costa (Powell and Brown, 2012). The ground color of the forewing is blackish, with some yellow-brown mixed in; the outer margin is contrastingly luteous with two black striae (Forbes, 1923). Hindwings are brown.
Forewing Length: 5.5–7.0 mm, males; 6.0–8.0 mm, females (Powell and Brown, 2012)
Adult Structural Features: The costal fold in the male is moderate, not extending past the middle of the wing (Forbes, 1923)
Adult ID Requirements: Identifiable from photos showing hindwings, abdomen, or other specialized views [e.g., frons, palps, antennae, undersides].
