Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records from the Coastal Plain come almost entirely from wet forests, including non-riverine swamp forests. Piedmont records also include riparian forests. Mountain records come from riparian forests and cove forests.
Larval Host Plants: The larvae appear to feed primarily on Impatiens (Dyar, cited by Forbes, 1948). Covell (1984) additionally lists birch, blackberry, hawthorn, and willow. As of 2024, we have one rearing record for Spotted Jewelweed (I. capensis). - View
