Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Fields, woodlands, and forest edges (Wagner, 2005). North Carolina records come from most wooded habitats, from maritime forests, peatlands, bottomlands, Longleaf Pine habitats, mesic forests, cove forests, and dry ridges.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae are polyphagous, feeding on cherry (Prunus), rose (Rosa), oak (Quercus), and probably other species of hardwood trees and shrubs (Wagner, 2005). In North Carolina, larvae have been recorded feeding on ash (Fraxinus), cherry, and Cherrybark Oak (Quercus pagoda). - View
