Identification

Comments: Cephalothorax and legs greenish yellow. The abdomen is winder than long, triangular with lateral humps. The dorsal surface of the abdomen is red with yellow spots and a transverse band. At the front corners of the abdomen there are a series of dark spots, surrounded by yellow. There are also small dark spots along the sides of abdomen, each surrounded by yellow. Some forms of A. miniatus can have similar markings, but lack the dark spots outlined in yellow that partitus shows.

Distribution in North Carolina
Comments: Eastern species, Maine south to Georgia and west to Arkansas. Adults early spring to early summer.
