Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records come primarily from open habitats and woodlands, including maritime dunes, savannas, sand ridges, and lake shorelines.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae feed on sumacs (Rhus spp.), including Winged Sumac (R. copallinum), Smooth Sumac (R. glabra), and Staghorn Sumac (R. typhina) (Wagner et al., 2011). In North Carolina, J.B. Sullivan reared a larva from Winged Sumac. - View
