Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records come from a wide variety of forest, woodland, and shrubland habitats.
Larval Host Plants: Larvae are broadly polyphagous on woody plants, including conifers as well as hardwoods. Wagner et al. (2001) specifically list fir (Abies), maple (Acer), birch (Betula), larch (Larix), spruce (Picea), pine (Pinus), poplar (Populus), oak (Quercus), currant (Ribes), willow (Salix), hemlock (Tsuga), elm (Ulmus), and blueberry (Vaccinium). In North Carolina, larvae have been reared from on recorded feeding on Yaupon Holly (Ilex vomitoria), Box-elder (Acer negundo), Sourwood (Oxydendrum arboreum), and Titi (Cyrilla racemiflora). - View
