Adult Markings: The ground color of the wings is pure white, as is the head, including the interantennal bar (Forbes, 1948). The postmedial and subterminal lines are buff and irregular, rather than black and regularly waved as in <>Idaea obfusaria.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Our records come primarily from sand ridge habitats in the Coastal Plain but we also have records from mafic barrens and woodlands in the Piedmont.
Larval Host Plants: Host plants are poorly known, but there is a BugGuide record (Charles Melton, 2018) for a larva on Bigelow's Bristlehead (Carphochaete bigelovii) in Arizona. The hosts used in North Carolina are unknown. - View
